About

“After the war we reassured ourselves that it would be enough to relate a single night in Treblinka, to tell of the cruelty, the senselessness of murder, and the outrage born of indifference: it would be enough to find the right word and the propitious moment to say it, to shake humanity out of its indifference and keep the torturer from torturing ever again… We thought it would be enough to tell of the tidal wave of hatred which broke over the Jewish people for men everywhere to decide once and for all to put an end to hatred of anyone who is “different” - whether black or white, Jew or Arab, Christian or Moslem - anyone whose orientation differs politically, philosophically, sexually… If someone had told us in 1945 that in our lifetime religious wars would rage on virtually every continent, that thousands of children would once again be dying of starvation, we would not have believed it. Or that racism and fanaticism would flourish once again, we would not have believed it”
-Elie Wiesel

Our Goals

The Combat Genocide Association’’s main goal is to commit itself to the termination and prevention of all organized acts of murder by men, organization or state of any distinctive social group, ethnic minority or people.

To realize this goal the Association will conduct studies of conflicts and acts of violence around the world in order to identify the places where the risk of genocide is developing or such acts are being committed in fact.

The Combat Genocide Association will strive to focus the Israeli and international public attention on genocides during and before they occur, aiming to create a public opinion that will encourage the authorities and others to take action to stop genocides. This goal will be fulfilled by a long-term action to shape a public opinion that objects genocides in general, and also focused actions to specific crises.

The Association will engage in research, distribution of reading materials, creating educational programs and spreading them among educational institutions, in organizing a public committee, which will include scholars and executives to combat genocides, organize demonstrations and other acts of public pressure and any other form of action that will create public recognition and pressure the decision makers to combat genocide.

The Combat Genocide Association will establish and organize bodies, develop tools and systems to distribute information, data and materials regarding genocide: an internet site, an educational center open to the public, public seminars, an annual public report and any other means it shall find appropriate.

The Association will make connections with cultures, people and distinct groups, which were or are victims of genocide, aiming to aid ethnic groups that are in grave crisis, in order to help deal with the implications of the genocide in groups which have experienced genocide themselves, to bring the world to recognize the suffering of these groups and to create a universal coalition, whose motto shall be: “never again”.

Most importantly the Combat Genocide Association will aid groups, who have survived genocide and are in Israel.

The Association will deal in creating a wide public awareness against the existence of nuclear weapons as immoral weapons, which immanently make genocides possible. The Association has committed itself to strive towards a world clean of nuclear weapons.
